A multigenre research paper is collection of separate pieces of writing that are unified by a common topic and theme. The pieces of writing are written in a variety of genres and communicated through multimedia. Each piece included in the project could be read or viewed by itself and still make a point of its own. However, together the collection of pieces work in a unified way to inform your reader about your findings after research on a particular topic. Each piece works to build upon a greater theme through language, images, and content that becomes clear to the reader after reading all pieces included in the project.
A multimedia, multigenre paper is personal. It is creative. It cannot be replicated. An important characteristic is that you, the author, have choices. It involves the author making decisions about what information is important and how that information might be presented to the reader.
